Pop Recs : 3 Top-Tier Mystery Movies

 3 Top-Tier Mystery Movies

For all your binging pleasure.

This one is for all of my fellow dramatic mystery movie buffs out there. In this short list, I featured my top three favourite dramatic films that I rewatch monthly and never fail to excite & surprise me. All these movies are available to watch on the streaming service Netflix, and you would want to run not walk to go watch these films now.

  1. Knives Out (2019)

This stunning film starring rising star Ana de Armas (Blonde), Chris Evans (Lightyear), Daniel Craig (No Time to Die), and many other Hollywood stars from Jamie Lee Curtis (Freaky Friday) to Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why) centres around the suspicious death of renowned thriller author Harlan Thrombey, and his eccentric family members & caretaker, Marta Cabrera as well as each relative’s involvement as the entire mystery unfurls. An extraordinary film filled to the brim with plot twists and turns, and it’s definitely one of my personal favourites.

  1. Enola Holmes (2020)

Returning from the Upside Down and challenging herself, Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) stars in this mystery film surrounding the story of Sherlock Holmes’ teenage sister, Enola, solving the mystery of her missing mother with the help of her brother himself. This family-friendly movie includes features such as the protagonist breaking the fourth wall multiple times, code-breaking, and many more that are surefire ways to enjoy this fantastic film. Also, it stars Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill (Superman). Who wouldn’t want to watch that?

  1. Do Revenge (2022)

Not going to lie, this is my new favourite film, and the new chick flick we all needed. Do Revenge centres around the most unlikely of friends, exchange student Eleanor Levetan (Maya Hawke - Stranger Things) and Teen Vogue’s star and stereotypical popular girl Drea Torres (Camila Mendes - Riverdale) doing each other’s revenge against their archenemies after Torres’ ex leaks an intimate video of her, while Levetan challenges an old enemy that ruined her life. This film is the remarkable cult classic we never knew we needed, and is definitely Oscar-worthy.
